Costa Rica

I figured that this would be a good start for my blog. Since I thrive on seeing new places and doing adventurous things (I guess adventurous is relative but to me I would say adventurous). One of my best friends in the whole world and I went to Costa Rica together. Since she has most of the photos I don't have that many to choose from to post on my blog. Our theme from the start was "It could be worse," after Sarah-Dawn had her sleeping bad smeared with emesis from the sick child in front of her.

Some of the cool things that we did: We hiked along listening to an erupting volcano. It was the coolest thing to hear the rumble of the angry mountain, and in the evening observe the red rocks tumble momentously down the side of the volcano. Nature hikes in the dark night when different animals are lurking about. There were plenty of raccoons, a toucan, tarantula, some monkey's with a prehensile tail and others that did not. We zip-lined back and forth across the treetops getting great views of the ocean and surrounding forest.
The best part of that tour was the Superman swing at the end. Then on to the beach, Jaco, for a little surfing (SD not me) and some R&R before heading back to San Jose and home. I got a really gnarly sun burn. I didn't think to put sunscreen on my feet so that might have been the worst place but I was red everywhere.

Costa Rica's food is nothing to brag about. It isn't a cheap as I expected it to be either. Beans, rice, some meat were the staple. We wanted to eat authentic, but one night we had the most delicious pizza. Either delicious or we were starving. The highlight of my evenings was my diet coke, or the Hi-C pear juice that I found particularly delectable.
